Laser Hardening is a great way to improve wear resistance on parts that undergo abrasive manufacturing processes. We heat treated the gear teeth on this component to about 58 HRC, extending the tooling life!

Pre: 28-32 HRC | Post: 56-58 HRC

“Why would a company in Cleveland want to go to Meadville, Pennsylvania? The main reason is the amount of different processes that Peters Heat Treating is capable of doing. They’re kind of a one-stop shop for a lot of different value-added processes.”
–Nic Willis, Metallurgist and Heat Treat Supervisor at Emerson Professional Tools

This system imports basic part coordinates from your component through a convenient scanning function, which replicates a virtual 3D workpiece, providing exact dimensional details of the areas where hardening is required.

Digitally controlled laser heat source elevates temperature for heat treating by localizing energy directly to the required work area.
